As President and Owner of Laura E. Flanagan Management Consulting, Lauri understands that good people are the driving force of a successful business. As a consulting professional, she supports companies with challenging people solutions while providing expert navigation to achieve practical results. Some of the services Lauri offers are assistance with understanding HR rules, regulations, and laws, development of people, including performance enhancement, executive and management coaching, succession planning, assessments, fractional HR services and best people practices. As a business consultant, Lauri can guide clients through employee promotions, terminations, downsizings, and reorganizations. She can also assist in the planning for resources and structure when your business is positioned for growth. Due to her strong background in human resources, Lauri provides valuable advice and thoughtful insight to clients and candidates throughout the services she provides. For over 20 years, Lauri has owned her own HR consulting firm that provides strategic advice and support in talent management. Early in her career, Lauri worked at the Furst-McNess Company, an independent agricultural company that provides customized solutions for livestock performance and profitability. She then worked as the HR Manager at Woods Equipment Company which manufactures tractor implements and lawn equipment. Rounding out her corporate roles, she held an executive HR role in the transportation industry. She spent 10 years partnering with Management Resource Group, Ltd., a talent management firm, where she led the organization as President. She managed executive search assignments, the assessment center, and engaged with clients on various customized solutions, including succession planning. She also collaborated directly with psychologists on candidate recommendations to clients and evaluation of test and assessment results.

Lauri holds a B.A. in Psychology from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa and an M.S. in Management from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She has earned her Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) senior certification (SHRM-SCP). She is an active member of her local chapter of SHRM Great River Human Resources Association (GRHRA), SHRM’s local affiliate chapter, where she served as President for 2020-2021, Past President for 2022 and 2023-24 Community Relations Director. In addition, she serves on the Iowa SHRM State Council where she was District Director for 2022-2024. In 2025 she is the Incoming Director and is looking forward to her term as Director in 2026-27. She is also on the board for Empowering Abilities and contributes to the human resources, audit, and financial committees. Lauri is a Past President of Lourdes Catholic School parent organization where she was responsible for volunteering and fundraising. Previously she was a board member for the Women’s Choice Center and served as a member of the governance committee for four years. Lauri has been married to her husband, Tim, for 33 years and they have two children, Liz, and Benny. Lauri is an avid reader, enjoys cooking, traveling, physical fitness, yoga, and spending time in the outdoors.
